2000年夏、16歳の時に1stカセット「MIKI MATSUHASHI」でインディーズデビュー。翌2001年6月6日、メジャーデビューシングル「time stand still」をリリース。翌週13日に「名探偵コナン」のオープニングテーマとして好評オンエア中の「destiny」をリリース。2週連続リリースで、デビューからその存在をアピールした。
